Multimedia journalist with a background in public radio, podcasting, and digital production. I believe in the medium serving the story, and so I've produced work across a wide range of platforms including longform audio, photo essays, interactive documentaries, even handmade 'zines. Here are a few highlights:
- Searching for Naomi Wise, produced for West Virginia Public Broadcasting, traced the origins of a famous murder ballad. This story and several others were also adapted for a live storytelling show.
- The Paint Creek Scenic Trail Audio Tour, an app-based driving tour that takes visitors on a 44-mile through the once-booming coal company towns in southern West Virginia. Drawing from oral histories, the tour tells the story of the Mine Wars, the rise and fall of the coal industry, and the campaign to restore Paint Creek after decades of environmental degradation.
- This episode of the PBS Digital series Blank on Blank featuring Sally Ride. This addition to the animated series is based on a long-lost interview with Ride conducted by Gloria Steinem.
